Target group

Young vulnerable women aged 16-21 with low to medium support needs. Must have a local connection to LB Southwark.

Will not accept

Women with current alcohol or drug problems without support agencies involvement. Women with a history of violence or arson. Women who are pregnant.

Referral agencies

Most vacancies are held for LB Southwark RARS (020 7525 4121), if they are unable to fill a vacancy it is made available to other agencies in Southwark.

Referral procedure

Phone project 8am-9pm daily or RARS Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Interview. If accepted, move in on a Monday. Require proof of identity and benefits details.

Support services

8 staff, 24 hour waking cover. Keywork system with monthly meetings. Keyworkers and life skills officer assess residents' support needs within the first month of stay. Counselling available. Residents have access to life skills officer and personal development co-ordinator.

Health services

Mental health and drug and alcohol team visit as required.

Access to move-on

Provide resettlement support and advice to residents. Have 10 local authority nominations. Offer follow-up support for 6 months.

House rules and tenure

Must attend keywork meetings for support planning and residents' meetings. Smoking allowed in garden only. Assured shorthold tenancy. Licence agreement for under 18 year olds.

Resident access

Own key, no access restrictions.


Between 9.30am and 11.30pm. Overnight guests 3 nights a week. No overnight guests on Sunday.

User participation

Compulsory residents' forum meets monthly for feedback to management, planning social activities and mutual support. Representative attends forum at group level.
