Single homeless people. Priority given to those with a Southend on Sea connection. Can accept couples who may be accommodated in the same room depending on availability.

Referral agencies

Accept self referrals and referrals from any agency.

Referral procedure

Self or agency referrals. Drop in to day centre Mon-Fri before 3pm. May require proof of identity. Initial assessment. Admission forms completed by staff on arrival.

Support services

Staff provide support Mon-Fri 5pm-9pm and Sun 10am-5pm, night security cover 9pm-9am and Sat-Sun 5pm-9am. Residents are expected to use the HARP Day Service (approx 1 mile from Night Service), which provides a range of practical help and advice. Residents can gain work experience in the HARP charity shop.

Health services

Substance misuse workers on staff team. Onsite GP consultation service at day centre. Other services offered such as ear acupuncture for addiction.

Access to move-on

HARP Day Service provides advice and support for residents in identifying and securing move-on options. Refer to local floating support services for follow up support.

The initial admission is for 7 nights but this can be extended if necessary. The project was set up as a complementary service to the HARP Day Service which provides advice, information, health care and referrals to other services. The Night Service is approximately 1 mile from the Day Service.
