Target group

Homeless families and pregnant women accepted as being homeless and in priority need under the Housing Act 1996. Must have a local connection to Nottingham area.

Will not accept

Single men. Registered sex offenders. People with a history of serious arson.

Referral agencies

Only accept referrals from Nottingham City Council Housing Aid.

Referral procedure

Phone or call in Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 8.30am-4.30pm, Weds 10.30am-4.30pm. Interview and needs assessment.

Staffing and support ^ back to top

Support services

Staff provide housing related support and work closely with outside agencies. The project has direct links with local schools and library services to provide additional support. A creche is available for children accompanied by parents.

Health services

Weekly sessions with health visitor and midwife. Direct links to mental health and drugs agencies. Staff support residents in accessing a GP.

Access to move-on

Staff help with finding permanent accommodation, including HomeLink and private rented sector. Floating support worker provides ongoing support.

House rules and tenure

Alcohol not allowed in communal areas. Smoking allowed in own flats only. Licence agreement.

Resident access

Residents encouraged to return to the hostel before 10.30pm.


Must leave by 10.30pm. No overnight guests.

User participation

Residents' questionnaires and suggestion box. One to one meetings with manager. Residents' meetings.
