Young single homeless people aged 16-25 with support needs. Must have a local connection to Cornwall.

Referral agencies

All referrals via Cornwall Council.

Referral procedure

Phone Mon-Fri 9am-5pm for application form, completed by applicant and referral agency prior to interview. Informal visit available. Require proof of ID as for Housing Benefit claims and risk assessment.

Operate waiting list of at least 6 months.

Support services

1 full time and 1 part time staff, on-site Mon-Fri 10am-7.30pm, emergency on-call system. Keywork system (4 residents per worker), weekly keywork meetings. Action plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed monthly. Staff provide support around independent living skills, managing finances, benefits, access to education, training and employment, alcohol and drug problems, access to health services.

Access to move-on

Staff provide help with applications for housing, Community Care grants, finding furniture, setting up utilities. Referral to rent deposit scheme. Offer 3 months follow-up support and referral to floating support service if required.

House rules and tenure

No alcohol allowed in communal areas. Smoking in own 1 bed flat or own room in shared flats. Licence agreement or assured shorthold tenancy.

Resident access

Own key, no access restrictions.

Visitors

Until midnight Sun-Thurs, 1am Fri-Sat. Overnight guests allowed with staff permission.

User participation

Monthly residents' meetings. Resident involvement in selection of new staff and residents. Residents' Association.
