Target group

Young single homeless people aged 16-25 with support needs, including care leavers. Can accommodate 2 single parents with children. Priority given to applicants with a local connection to the North Herts area.

Will not accept

Arsonists, sex offenders. Those with support needs which cannot be met by the project.

Referral agencies

Accept referrals from any agency. Most referrals via North Herts District Council Housing Needs Department.

Referral procedure

Phone Mon-Fri 9am-5pm for referral form. Interview and risk assessment.

Staffing and support ^ back to top

Support services

2 full time and 6 part time staff on-site Mon-Fri 10am-8pm at Sun Street; Jubilee House has almost 24/7 cover. Keywork system, weekly-monthly meetings. 3 month reviews. Staff help with independent living skills, budgeting, dealing with conflict, sustaining a tenancy, and help with access to education, training and employment.

Health services

Sessions on drug awareness, alcohol awareness and sexual health, a well being worker is on site once a week.

Access to move-on

Work through move-on pack and help with application for local authority housing. Follow-up 3, 6 and 9 months after move-on.

House rules and tenure

Must engage with support offered. No alcohol or drugs allowed on premises. Both schemes are no smoking schemes. Licence agreement or assured shorthold tenancy.

Resident access

Own key, no access restrictions.


2 per resident 8am-11pm. One guest can stay overnight twice a week.

User participation

Elected resident representative holds resident meetings and activities. Scrutiny panels and work forums. Annual surveys.
