This two-day residential event for Chief Executives and Strategic Directors will focus on the evolving leadership issues specific to the homelessness sector.

As the funding for public services shifts, the voluntary sector is being required to do more for themselves within tighter resources. It is being depended upon to be more enterprising, to take a greater responsibility for identifying local solutions and to generating the resources required to meet them.

This event will look at what it takes to be an entrepreneur within the voluntary sector, to be motivated by the potential to make change in peoples’ lives alongside the drive to succeed commercially.

The challenge for homelessness leaders is to prepare their organisation today in order to operate effectively tomorrow. This event will support attendees by exploring what the future opportunities for the voluntary sector are and the leadership skills required to take advantage of them.

This event will consider:

  • The changing political and funding context in which we operate, and what opportunities they may present.
  • The drive and creativity required of a leader to create a vison for social change.
  • The skills required of an entrepreneur.
  • The role of considered risks in identifying and creating an opportunity.
  • How to strengthen and create good governance practices.
  • How to build the right staff team.
  • How to develop and refine negotiation skills.
  • How to commercialise your trading activity.
  • How to secure grant funding.
  • Creating investable business models.
  • Strategic planning.

All delegate will attend each of the 4 masterclasses on day 1. On day 2 you will be able to choose your preferred 3 options from the 4 on offer.

This two-day residential event is for Chief Executives and Strategic Directors of small and medium sized homelessness organisations. The number of places are limited to 50 attendees.

Stoke Rochford Hall, near Grantham in Lincolnshire is located close to the A1 and within a short taxi ride from Grantham Station, which has an hourly service between London Kings Cross and Leeds, as well as cross-country services from Liverpool and Nottingham to Norwich. Stoke Rochford Hall is a Victorian country mansion set within formal landscaped gardens and 28 acres of parkland. The privacy of the venue, and with the event being held under the Chatham House Rule, attendees will be able to network and share information freely, and hold confidential discusions with their peers.

Booking

The cost to attend is £200 per person. This fee includes all conference materials, lunch and refreshments on both days, dinner and accommodation in the hotel on the 1st and breakfast on the 2nd November.
